INSTRUCTIONAL BASKETBALL LEAGUE
Youth in grades 1-6 may take part in this instructional basketball league led by Dan Sullivan. It will be held at Onondaga Hill Middle School on Saturdays, January 14 - March 10 (not 2/25). This is a noncompetitive, learning league for beginners. Coaches will call you with the 1st game scheduled. A full schedule will be handed out the first Saturday. First graders will play using the portable baskets, forming new teams each week.
HELP: To assure the success of the program we need VOLUNTEERS !! If you are able to coach or assist, please sign up when you register your child or call us at 469-3464.

YOGAKIDS
Onondaga Senior Center
Join Midge Regier, a certified Yogakids Faciliator in a learning adventure with Yoga as the pathway. Your 4-10 year old child will experience creative arts, storytelling, music, reading, earthcare and relaxation. Each child will have the opportunity to explore and appreciate their creative potential. They will learn skills while they grow strong and flexible on all levels. Dress comfortably. COED AFTER SCHOOL GYMNASTICS & TUMBLING PROGRAM
Parry’s Gymnastics Center, Fairmount Centre
Two eight week sessions of basic recreational gymnastics and tumbling class for boys and girls in grades 1-5 will be offered this winter/spring. Includes expert instruction in Tumbling/Floor Exercise, Balance Beam, Vaulting and Uneven Bar. Classes will be instructed by Chuck Parry. No previous experience is required. Girls should wear a one piece bathing suit or gymnastics/dance leotard. Boys should wear gym shorts and shirt. Tuesdays, January 24th–March 20th(not 2/21), or April 3rd –May 29th (not 4/17), 3:45-4:45PM. A weekly fee of $16.00 will be paid in two installments directly to Parry’s Gymnastics, the first week and the fourth week. Participants who took part in the Fall program do not have to pay a new registration fee but do need to call and let us know they are continuing with the class.

SPRING BASKETBALL
Continue learning and improving your skills, or join us for the first time this year. Youth in grades 1-5 may take part in this recreational basketball program to be held at Onondaga Hill Middle School on Saturdays, April 28-May 18.

MOMMY/DADDY & ME SOCCER
King Park
The Mommy/Daddy & Me Soccer program brings parents and children ages 3-5 together to work on a variety of soccer skills. This program prepares children for organized soccer in a FUN, non-threatening environment. It offers soccer exercises that become increasingly more difficult as the class progresses and children show improvement. The six-lesson program will run Saturdays, May 5 - June 16(not 5/26), from 10:15-11:15AM. Fee includes 2 soccer balls and one pair of shin guards. Max. 20

SOCCER
King Park
This Spring Soccer Program is available for boys and girls ages 5-7. This is an instructional program where kids can learn the fundamentals of the game of soccer. They will play games at the end of each session. Saturdays, May 5- June 16 (not 5/26), 9:00-10:00AM. Max. 35

All participants should bring a water bottle, sweatshirt on cold days and shin guards.
ZUMBATOMIC
Kids love to crank up the music, shake, wiggle and have a blast with their friends. So why not get fit while they’re at it. Youth ages 6-12 join instructor Ms. Theresa, for a fun filled Latin kid inspired dance workout. This course is 30 minutes of fun and covers how to do basic steps, dance choreography and games. A hand towel and water bottle are strongly recommended, but proper footwear is a must! Please wear supportive footwear such as dance shoes or sneakers that allow you to move comfortably around the room. Two age groups will be offered Mondays, 6-9 year olds from 5:00-5:30 and 9-12 year olds from 5:30-6:00. Max. 12

SUMMER EMPLOYMENT
Applications for summer employment will be accepted from January 3 to May 4, at the Recreation Office. Applicants must be at least 17 years of age. Jobs include Playground Supervisors, Leaders, Soccer and Pre-K staff.
CIT PROGRAM
(COUNSELOR-IN-TRAINING)
We are looking for 15 & 16 year old youths interested in volunteering at a summer playground. C.I.T.’s will join the hired staff learning the ropes of being a counselor. When they turn 17, they will have the skills needed to possibly become a paid counselor. Applications for CIT’s will be accepted from January 3 to May 4. Limited spaces available.
2012 ADULT SOFTBALL
Softball leagues will be held at King and Howlett Hill Parks. Men’s leagues are on Tuesdays with Co-Ed on Wednesdays. Teams that played in ’11 will receive a pre-registration form in February. The completed form and payment must be received by March 9, to reserve a space. New teams will be accepted after that time.

Includes: Six 1˝ hour lessons, free skiing entire ski season on Fridays.
Participants must be age 12 & older or in at least 6th grade.

Registration forms are available starting October 3, 2011, at the Recreation Department. Payment, completed forms and a 2" x 2" picture are required at the time of registration.

2011 PARK PERMITS
The following parks are available
KING MEMORIAL PARK
A twenty acre park located on Split Rock Road, featuring athletic fields, beach volleyball court, tennis and basketball courts, playground equipment, grills, pavilion and restrooms. The park accommodates up to 100 people.
KELLEY BROTHERS MEMORIAL PARK
A fifteen acre park, located off Dorwin Avenue in Nedrow, featuring tennis courts, two ball fields, a basketball court, a beach volleyball court, small pavilion, several grills, playground equipment and restrooms. The park accommodates up to 75 people.
HOWLETT HILL PARK
A nine acre park on Youth Center Road off Howlett Hill Road, featuring athletic fields, two softball fields, tennis courts, a basketball court, a covered shelter, grills, playground equipment, and restrooms. The park accommodates up to 75 people.
ANTHONY J. SANTARO MEMORIAL PARK
A twenty two acre park, located on Velasko Road, featuring tennis and basketball courts, athletic fields, playground areas, pavilion, shade shelter, in-line skate & bike path, street hockey court, and restrooms. The park accommodates up to 150 people.
TOWN RESIDENTS: Can apply exclusively for park use from February 1 - March 31, 2012
FEES: 1-50 people: $50.00 security deposit
51-100 people: $30.00 fee plus $50.00 security deposit
101-150 people: $50.00 fee plus $50.00 security deposit
Driver license or proof of residency needed at the time of application.
NONRESIDENTS: Can apply beginning April 1, 2012
FEES: 1-50 people: $ 50.00 plus $100.00 security deposit
51-100 people: $ 75.00 plus $100.00 security deposit
101-150 people: $100.00 plus $100.00 security deposit
TOWN OF ONONDAGA PARK RULES
VIOLATIONS WILL RESULT IN FORFEITURE OF SECURITY DEPOSIT
1. NO alcoholic beverages allowed in parks.
2. All trash is to be "carried out."
3. Vehicles must be left in parking lots - NO driving is permitted to pavilions - EVER!
4. Ball fields must not be used in inclement weather.
5. Snowmobiles, mini-bikes and ATV's are prohibited.
6. NO open fires, except in designated grills.
7. NO food or drink on court surfaces.
8. NO glass bottles/containers.
9. Hitting of golf balls is prohibited.
10. All parks open at 9:00 am and close at dusk. Vehicles left in the park and locked in can be removed the
next morning at 9:00 a.m.
11. Respect other groups in the park using the facilities. Your permit DOES NOT give you exclusive
rights to the whole park!
12. The applicant will be charged for any damages/loss.
13. Absolutely NO loud music or anything utilizing speakers at anytime. Our parks are located in residential
areas and we will respect the rights of our residents.
14. NO inflatable apparatus allowed.
15. NO pony rides/horse back riding allowed.
16. NO additional grills (gas or charcoal) are allowed to be brought in.
17. NO generators
18. NO dunk tanks
19. No unauthorized use of power cords
